The 2010 Winter Ordeal will be held at Camp Everglades from January 8 - 10, 2010. We will be working on re-staining several of the shelters along with various other projects. The registration form 2010 Winter Ordeal (267.14 kB) can be downloaded and mailed in or you can register online here with NO CONVENIENCE FEE.
The official 2009 Vigil Nomination is now available online 2009 Vigil Nomination Form (70.23 kB). This year's form can be filled out online and emailed to Lenny L, our Vigil chair. It can also be printed and mailed. Nomination forms must be postmarked or submitted electronically by December 21.
The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members. Therefore, selections for this important distinction are made with great care and only after thorough examinations have been made of all eligible and active members. This form is NOT designed as a lobbying tool for any particular candidate, but rather as an informative form for the selection committee to discover specific qualifications of each candidate for the Vigil Honor. An eligible member does not need to receive a nomination in order to be considered by the committee, and the committee does not weigh how many nominations a candidate receives. To be selected for the Vigil Honor, a member must have been a Brotherhood member for at least two (2) years by the 2010 Lodge Banquet. As a guide for your nomination, only nominate those individuals that you feel best exemplify our Order’s ideals of exceptional brotherhood, cheerfulness, and unselfish service to others. Lastly, please use a separate form for each nominee.
Breaking News - There will not be an OA Ocean Adventure program for 2010. The OAOA program will resume in the summer of 2011.
We are pleased to announce that the 2010 applications for OA Trail Crew, OA Wilderness Voyage and OAWV: Canadian Odyssey, have been posted to the national high adventure website (http://adventure.oa-bsa.org). There will be 9 sessions of each program, including the new Canadian Odyssey Voyage, running from early June through mid-August. The OA Ocean Adventure program is currently in revision to give Arrowmen the opportunity to leave an even greater impact on the areas Sea Base serves, at a lower cost to the participants. Details about the program, as well as the application, will be available later this summer.
Each year the OA's High Adventure programs continue to grow in popularity and have been filled to capacity for four straight years. As such we encourage Arrowmen to apply as soon as possible. For more program information including promotional flyers, videos, participant testimonials, newsletter articles, scholarship form templates, website banners, training syllabi and more, visit the resources section of our website.
