Dear
Brothers,
I’d first off like to wish all of you a very
happy New Year! 2007 was quite the year for O-Shot-Caw. Together, we won Best
All Around for the ninth consecutive time, the National Service award for the
sixth consecutive time, made Quality Lodge once again, sent more brothers to OA
High Adventure than any other Lodge in the nation, sent more brothers to NCLS
than any other Lodge in the Section, saw a Haunted Forest that grossed a 75%
profit increase for the JAACF and hosted our first Fellowship weekend in years
at Camp Sawyer. That’s a lot.
During the holiday break, two noteworthy
events occurred that I would like to update all of you on. First off, our Lodge
submitted our annual re-charter packet to the National Office. I am proud to
announce that our Lodge met all the requirements for the 2008 Quality Lodge
Petition; finishing off our year off with a 34.5% brotherhood conversion rate.
We also submitted, in that same re-charter packet, our National Service Award
Petition. This 22 page portfolio outlined all of O-Shot-Caw’s service
throughout the year and is the center of the National Service Award selection
process.
The second event that occurred was a milestone
in O-Shot-Caw history. Our first National Officer in 53 years, former Southern
Region Chief
